The News Letter – the oldest continuously published daily newspaper in the English-speaking world – has a rich and enduring history, dating back to its inception in Belfast in 1737. The paper was established by Francis Joy in September 1737 in the form of a printed letter from the Sign of the Peacock at Bridge Street in Belfast.

We can provide a photocopy (by post) or scanned copy (by e-mail) of the original document from the microfilm archive of the Belfast News Letter. Simply search the free B.N.L index for the surname(s)/article(s) of interest and provide us with the date, page number and details that you are interested in and we will provide a photocopy/scan as soon as possible. The cost of this service is £5 sterling.
